Description

Inspired by The Silmarillion - when Elwing [mother of Elrond and Elros] throws herself into the sea with her Silmaril to escape the destruction of the Havens of Sirion and is changed into a great white bird by Orome the Vala.

[Note: I know Elwing should probably be dark-haired. I think at the time I made her fair-haired because she's Celeborn's - great-niece? - and I always associate those elves with being blonde].

I love this, especially the pose that you've drawn her in. It almost seems reminiscent of a painting you would see on the ceiling of a European cathedral. I always though Elwing's story sounded weird and I didn't really get it until I saw your drawing, then it made sense to me. She really looks like she's going to morph into a bird.
